Your Google data

How connecting your Google account to The Proxies works, how to disconnect it, what we delete and when, and how to ask us to delete your data.

What connecting Google does

When you connect Google, Google asks you to let The Proxies read your Gmail, create Gmail drafts, send email from Gmail, use your Google Calendar and Google Sheets, and read your Google Analytics and Search Console reports. Before you go to Google, we show you what each permission is for.

  • We use this access only to do what you or your AI assistant ask, and to run automations you set up.
  • Your AI assistant (for example Claude) receives the Google data it asks for, so it can answer you. Automations you set up run on your own Claude account. When features that run on our servers use an AI model on data we fetch from your Google account, they use Anthropic's API.
  • We never use your Google data for advertising or to train AI models, and we never sell it.
  • Tidying your inbox (archive, move to trash, mark as read) is separate. We only ask for it if you turn on inbox tidy in Email Review, and we explain it first.
  • Google lets you untick permissions on its screen. Features that need a permission you did not allow will not work until you remove the account and connect it again.

The full details are in the Google section of our privacy policy.

How to disconnect Google

  1. Sign in and open your dashboard.
  2. Scroll to the Connectors section and find the Google card.
  3. Next to the Google account you want to disconnect, choose Remove.

If you connected more than one Google account, do this for each one.

What we delete, and when

When you choose Remove, straight away:

  • We delete the access keys Google gave us for that account, so we can no longer reach its data.
  • On your own dashboard, we also delete the account's connection record, with its email address (and name and picture where Google provides them), and the calendar events we copied through that connection.
  • If you connected through the dashboard of a client organisation you belong to, we keep an inactive record of the account, with its email address (and name and picture where Google provides them) and any email signature you saved for it, but no access keys.

Calendars you added from an ICS link or by sharing them with us are separate from this connection. Their copied events stay until you remove that calendar from your calendar page in The Proxies.

These are not deleted when you choose Remove:

  • Inbox automation alerts. The subject, sender and short preview of each matching message are erased automatically after 30 days. We keep only the message's identifier, so you are not alerted twice.
  • Records of emails your automations sent on your behalf, with the recipient and subject.
  • Email Review approval records, which hold message identifiers and fingerprints of the content, never the email itself.
  • Spreadsheet data you imported into a workbook. Deleting a workbook only hides it: its data and history stay in our database until your organisation's data is destroyed. Email privacy@the-proxies.ai if you want a deleted workbook erased.
  • Anything you asked your AI assistant to save, such as memories, tasks or files.

Our backups are encrypted. Data you delete can remain in them for a period after you delete it.

Remove our access at Google

Choosing Remove deletes our copy of the access keys, but Google keeps a record of the permission until you remove it there. To remove it:

  1. Open your Google Account's third-party connections page (myaccount.google.com/connections).
  2. Find The Proxies (it may be listed as the-proxies.ai) and remove its access.

If the same Google account is connected in more than one place in The Proxies, removing access at Google stops all of them. If you shared a Google calendar with us instead of connecting, also remove that share in your Google Calendar settings.

Ask us to delete your data

Email privacy@the-proxies.ai and tell us which account the request is for. A deletion request removes the access keys for your connected accounts, the calendar events we copied, your inbox automation alerts, and the memories and files you saved. For an account connected through a client organisation's dashboard, it removes the access keys and leaves the inactive record described above.

A deletion request does not yet remove these automatically:

  • Email Review approval records (message identifiers and content fingerprints).
  • Records of emails your automations sent.
  • Workbooks, including deleted ones.
  • Leads from our lead finder.
  • Tasks.

If you want any of these removed too, say so in your email to privacy@the-proxies.ai and we will remove them.
